「前例がない」を強みに。P.I.C.S. × Questryがオリジナルアニメ『プリンセスぞのふ』で切り拓く、制作会社主導の新しいお金の流れ(前編)
日本のアニメ業界では、既存ファンを持つ原作モノが製作委員会方式で優遇される一方、オリジナル企画は資金調達の壁に突き当たりやすく、制作会社が初期費用を自己負担せざるを得ない構造的課題がありました 。
クリエイティブ制作会社のP.I.C.S.とクエストリーは業務提携を締結し、グローバル向けオリジナルIP『プリンセスぞのふ』の立ち上げに際し、パイロットフィルム制作へのファンド出資という新スキームを導入しました 。
これは金融における「シード投資」の考え方を応用したもので、初期にリスクを取る投資家へ適切なリターンを設計しつつ、映像素材を武器に海外交渉を有利に進める狙いがあります。
私たちは、この挑戦を通じて制作会社が主導権を持ってIPを育てるための新たなエコシステムを構築し、日本の独創的なコンテンツが持続的に成長する未来を牽引してまいります 。
In the Japanese anime industry, while adaptations of existing source material with a built-in fan base are favored under the production committee system, original projects often face significant hurdles in securing funding, creating a structural challenge where production companies are forced to cover initial costs out of their own pockets.
Creative production companies P.I.C.S. and Questory have entered into a business partnership and, in launching the global original IP “Princess Zonofu,” have introduced a new scheme involving fund investment for the production of a pilot film.
This approach applies the concept of “seed investment” from the financial sector, aiming to provide appropriate returns to investors who take on early-stage risk while leveraging the visual content to gain an advantage in overseas negotiations.
Through this initiative, we aim to build a new ecosystem where production companies take the lead in nurturing IP, thereby paving the way for a future in which Japan’s original content can grow sustainably.
